CAS:
Homomazindol is a benzodiazepine that binds to the benzodiazepine receptor, which is found in the central nervous system. It has been shown to have strong affinity for the striatal region of the rat brain, and it can be used as an in vitro assay for ligands. In vivo assays have also shown that homomazindol binds to dopamine receptors, and it has been suggested that this may be related to its anticonvulsant effects. Homomazindol's chemical structure is similar to cocaine, and it has been shown to have similar effects on dopamine release in rat striatal membranes. This drug can exist as two tautomers: one with a hydroxyl group and one without. In addition, homomazindol hydrochloride (HOM) is related to methoxyhomomazindol (MOM), which has been shown to bind more tightly than HOM does.
Formula:C17H15ClN2OPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:298.8 g/mol
