:2′-Deoxy-5-iodouridine 5′-(tetrahydrogen triphosphate)
Description:
2′-Deoxy-5-iodouridine 5′-(tetrahydrogen triphosphate), commonly referred to as dIUTP, is a nucleotide analog characterized by the presence of an iodine atom at the 5-position of the uridine base. This modification can influence its biochemical properties, particularly in terms of its incorporation into nucleic acids during DNA synthesis. The triphosphate moiety provides high-energy phosphate bonds, making it a substrate for various enzymatic reactions, including those catalyzed by DNA polymerases. The presence of the iodine atom can also affect the stability and reactivity of the nucleotide, potentially leading to unique interactions in biological systems. dIUTP is often used in molecular biology and biochemistry for studying DNA synthesis, mutagenesis, and as a tool in various labeling techniques. Its CAS number, 3731-55-3, is a unique identifier that facilitates its recognition in chemical databases and literature. Overall, dIUTP serves as a valuable compound for research applications, particularly in the fields of genetics and molecular biology.

2'-Deoxy-5-iodouridine-5'-triphosphate sodium salt - 10mM aqueous solution
CAS:
2'-Deoxy-5-iodouridine-5'-triphosphate sodium salt is a potent inhibitor of thymidylate synthase, an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of deoxyuridine to thymidylate. 2'-Deoxy-5-iodouridine-5'-triphosphate sodium salt has been found to have a noncompetitive inhibition effect on bacterial DNA replication and is used as a chemotherapeutic agent in the treatment of cancer. It is also used as a radioprotectant during radiation therapy. The optimum concentration for 2'-deoxy-5-iodouridine-5'-triphosphate sodium salt is 10mM, which inhibits bacterial enzymes but does not inhibit mammalian enzymes.
Formula:C9H10N2O14P3I·4NaPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:681.97 g/mol
