Upon ozonization it becomes a precursor for carcinogenic Nitrosodimethylamine (N525625). Otherwise N,N-Dimethylsulfamide is a versatile reactant used in various syntheses such as preparation of N-sulfonylbenzaldimines in copper-catalyzed aza-Friedel-Crafts reactions with 1-methylindole.
