CAS:Controlled ProductApplications 3-Mercaptophenol is a versatile reactant used in the study of mechanism and catalysis of the native chemical ligation reaction. It was also used as a reactant in the synthesis and biological evaluation of HSP90 inhibitors based on molecular dynamic calculated conformational analysis of radicicol and its analogs.

CAS:3-Hydroxybenzenethiol is a reactive chemical that binds to human liver microsomes and inhibits the activity of cytochrome P450, an enzyme that is required for the metabolism of many drugs. 3-Hydroxybenzenethiol has been shown to have inhibitory properties against a number of bacterial enzymes including beta-lactamase and penicillinase. 3-Hydroxybenzenethiol also inhibits the uptake of flavonoids by cells, which may be due to its ability to bind to flavonoid derivatives. The molecule has been used in studies on monoclonal antibodies and enzyme inhibitors.
