Nadolol is a beta-blocker that is used to treat high blood pressure. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of ryanodine receptors and P-glycoprotein (Pgp) in cells, which are proteins that regulate calcium release from the sarcoplasmic reticulum. Nadolol has also been shown to inhibit the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and other DNA polymerases, leading to a decrease in the rate of DNA synthesis.
