Benzamide, N-[2,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-5-bromo-2-hydroxy-

Description:
Benzamide, N-[2,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-5-bromo-2-hydroxy- is a chemical compound characterized by its complex structure, which includes a benzamide moiety substituted with a 2,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl group and a bromo and hydroxy functional group. This compound is likely to exhibit significant lipophilicity due to the presence of multiple trifluoromethyl groups, which can enhance its biological activity and influence its solubility in organic solvents. The bromine atom and hydroxy group introduce additional reactivity and potential for hydrogen bonding, which may affect its interaction with biological targets. The trifluoromethyl groups are known to impart unique electronic properties, making this compound of interest in medicinal chemistry and materials science. Its specific applications may include use as a pharmaceutical intermediate or in the development of agrochemicals. As with many fluorinated compounds, it is essential to consider environmental and safety aspects during handling and disposal.

  • IMD-0560

    CAS:

IMD-0560 is a synthetic, small molecule that has been shown to inhibit the growth of prostate cancer cells in vitro. This compound binds to the androgen receptor, which is known to be overexpressed in prostate cancer cells. The binding of IMD-0560 to the androgen receptor prevents it from interacting with growth factor-β1 (GF-β1), which is necessary for prostate cancer cell proliferation. In addition, IMD-0560 causes a decrease in the release of chemoattractant protein from prostate cancer cells. This inhibition leads to decreased migration of prostate cancer cells and an increase in tumor cell death.
IMD-0560 has also been shown to inhibit the growth of squamous carcinoma cells through binding to the epidermal growth factor receptor, which inhibits its downstream signaling pathways.
