CAS 4542-47-6
:4-Morpholinepropanenitrile
Description:
4-Morpholinepropanenitrile is an organic compound characterized by its morpholine and nitrile functional groups. It features a morpholine ring, which is a six-membered heterocyclic structure containing one oxygen and one nitrogen atom, contributing to its unique chemical properties. The propanenitrile portion indicates the presence of a three-carbon chain terminating in a nitrile group (-C≡N), which is known for its reactivity and ability to participate in various chemical reactions, such as nucleophilic additions. This compound is typically a colorless to pale yellow liquid or solid, depending on its specific form and purity. It is soluble in polar solvents, which is a characteristic of many nitriles and morpholine derivatives. 4-Morpholinepropanenitrile may be used in pharmaceutical synthesis, agrochemical development, or as an intermediate in organic synthesis due to its functional groups. Safety data should be consulted for handling, as compounds containing nitriles can be toxic and require appropriate precautions.

CAS:
N-(2-Cyanoethyl)morpholine is an antibacterial agent that inhibits cell growth by binding to the ribosomal RNA of bacteria, thereby inhibiting protein synthesis. This drug has been shown to inhibit the growth of staphylococcus and leukemia cells in vitro. N-(2-Cyanoethyl)morpholine also inhibits the production of polyamines, which are involved in cell proliferation. These inhibitory properties have been attributed to amines on the molecule that bind to bacterial ribosomes and prevent the production of proteins. N-(2-Cyanoethyl)morpholine has been shown to be effective against Mycobacterium avium complex, but not Mycobacterium tuberculosis or other acid-fast bacteria.
Formula:C7H12N2OPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:140.19 g/mol
