1,2-Bis(methanesulfonyloxy)ethane (MSDE) is a chemical compound that has been shown to induce apoptosis in cells. It binds to the androgen receptor and induces the production of reactive oxygen species, leading to DNA damage and cell death. MSDE has been shown to inhibit protein synthesis in seminiferous tubules.
