:Propoxyphene
Description:
Propoxyphene is a synthetic opioid analgesic that was primarily used for the relief of mild to moderate pain. It is classified as a member of the diphenylpropylamine class of compounds. The chemical structure of propoxyphene includes a propoxy group, which contributes to its pharmacological properties. It is typically encountered as a white crystalline powder that is soluble in organic solvents but has limited solubility in water. Propoxyphene acts on the central nervous system by binding to opioid receptors, thereby altering the perception of pain. However, it has been associated with various side effects, including sedation, dizziness, and potential for dependence. Due to concerns regarding its safety profile, particularly the risk of serious cardiac arrhythmias, propoxyphene was withdrawn from the market in many countries, including the United States, in 2010. Its use is now largely discouraged, and alternative analgesics are recommended for pain management.

CAS:Controlled Product
Dextropropoxyphene is a synthetic opioid analgesic that is used in the treatment of mild to moderate pain. It is a prodrug which undergoes first-pass metabolism, and has an inhibitory effect on neural growth factors. Dextropropoxyphene also has some hallucinogenic effects and may be used as a recreational drug. Dextropropoxyphene can be detected in urine samples by gas chromatography with mass spectrometry (GC/MS). The clinical relevance of dextropropoxyphene is not fully understood, but it has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on inflammation and trigeminal neuralgia. Clinical studies have shown that dextropropoxyphene can cause drug reactions, some of which are serious or life-threatening.
Formula:C22H29NO2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:339.47 g/mol
