3-(Furan-2-ylmethyl)-2-sulfanylidene-1,3-thiazolidin-4-one is a fluorescent compound that has been used in the development of an assay for measuring the photostability of emulsions. It reacts with a chloride ion to form a fluorescent product. This molecule has also been found to be a good target enzyme for fluorescing and is capable of fluorescing at wavelengths of 320 nm and 365 nm. The chemical structure can be seen below.
