    <p>S-Phenylmercapturic acid is an analytical method that can be used to measure the concentration of guanine nucleotide-binding (GMP) in urine. This assay is a sensitive and specific test for urinary GMP. The linear calibration curve for this assay was determined by plotting the fluorescence intensity of s-phenylmercapturic acid against the concentration of GMP. S-Phenylmercapturic acid has been used as a marker for heart disease, kidney disease, and diabetes mellitus type 2.
