1-Acetyl-3-hydroxy-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (AHCEE) is an antidiabetic drug that belongs to the class of hypoglycemic agents. It has potent activity against experimental diabetes in animals. The hypoglycemic effect of AHCEE has been related to its ability to inhibit gluconeogenesis and glycogenolysis in the liver.
