CAS 479-00-5
:Ergometrinine
Description:
Ergometrinine, with the CAS number 479-00-5, is a semi-synthetic alkaloid derived from the ergot fungus, specifically from the ergotamine group. It is primarily known for its use in obstetrics to manage postpartum hemorrhage due to its potent vasoconstrictive properties and ability to stimulate uterine contractions. The compound has a complex structure characterized by a tetracyclic ring system, which is typical of ergot alkaloids. Ergometrinine exhibits a range of pharmacological effects, including the modulation of serotonin and adrenergic receptors, contributing to its therapeutic actions. It is typically administered via injection and is subject to careful dosage control due to potential side effects, such as hypertension and nausea. Additionally, ergometrinine's stability and solubility in various solvents make it suitable for pharmaceutical formulations. As with many alkaloids, its use is regulated, and it is important to monitor for contraindications, especially in patients with cardiovascular conditions.

Ergometrinine
CAS:Controlled ProductErgometrinine is a pharmacological agent that has been shown to have a number of physiological effects, including the inhibition of 5-HT2 receptors and aminotransferase activity. Ergometrinine has been found to be effective in humans for the treatment of Parkinson's disease and for raising serum prolactin levels. This drug is also a matrix effect enhancer, which can be useful in preparative HPLC. Ergometrinine binds to serum albumin and other proteins, forming an amide bond with them. It is also possible that ergometrinine may form hydrogen bonds with other molecules. Ergometrinine has been shown to inhibit the growth of endophytic fungi by an inorganic acid mechanism.
