:L-cysteic acid
Description:
L-cysteic acid is a naturally occurring amino acid derivative, characterized by the presence of a sulfonic acid group (-SO3H) attached to the cysteine backbone. It is a non-proteinogenic amino acid, meaning it is not incorporated into proteins during translation. L-cysteic acid is typically found in the form of a white crystalline solid and is soluble in water due to its polar functional groups. Its molecular formula is C3H7NO4S, and it has a molecular weight that reflects its composition of carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, and sulfur. This compound plays a role in various biochemical processes, including the metabolism of sulfur-containing amino acids. L-cysteic acid can also serve as a precursor for the synthesis of other biologically relevant molecules. In terms of safety, like many amino acids and their derivatives, it should be handled with care in laboratory settings, as it may cause irritation upon contact with skin or mucous membranes.

CAS:
L-Cysteic acid is an organic compound that is structurally related to cysteine. It has been shown in vitro to inhibit the proliferation of leukemic cells, and to be effective at concentrations of 1 mM. L-Cysteic acid has also been shown to inhibit glutamate excretion in mice with metabolic disorders. The optimum concentration for L-Cysteic acid is not known, but it has been shown that injection solutions containing this drug are stable for up to 3 days at room temperature. L-Cysteic acid binds DNA by hydrogen bonding interactions and amide groups, which prevents the binding of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and guanine nucleotide-binding proteins. This drug also inhibits the activity of certain receptors involved in cell proliferation.
Formula:C3H7NO5SPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:169.16 g/molAcetylcysteine Impurity 2 (L-Cysteic Acid)
