(-)-beta-Elemene is a natural product with antifungal and anticancer properties. It has been shown to have strong in vitro activity against myeloma cell lines, HL-60 cells, and K562 cells, which are all human cancer cell lines. (-)-beta-Elemene has also been shown to be active against group P2 bacteria, including Streptococcus pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae.
