CAS 51596-10-2
:(6R,25R)-5-O-Demethyl-28-deoxy-6,28-epoxy-25-methylmilbemycin B
Description:
(6R,25R)-5-O-Demethyl-28-deoxy-6,28-epoxy-25-methylmilbemycin B, with CAS number 51596-10-2, is a member of the milbemycin class of compounds, which are known for their insecticidal and acaricidal properties. This substance features a complex molecular structure characterized by multiple rings and functional groups, including an epoxy group and a methyl group, which contribute to its biological activity. The stereochemistry indicated by the (6R,25R) configuration suggests specific spatial arrangements of atoms that can influence the compound's interaction with biological targets. Milbemycins are typically derived from natural sources, particularly from the fermentation of certain Streptomyces species. They function by disrupting the nervous system of pests, leading to paralysis and death. This compound is of interest in agricultural and veterinary applications due to its effectiveness against a range of pests while exhibiting low toxicity to mammals. As with many specialized chemical substances, handling and usage should adhere to safety guidelines to mitigate any potential risks.

CAS:
Milbemectin A3 is a macrolide antibiotic that belongs to the group of milbemycins. It is a prodrug that is hydrolyzed in vivo to moxidectin, its active form. Milbemectin A3 has been shown to be effective against wild-type strains of c. glabrata and anthelmintic drug-resistant strains of c. elegans, as well as some other parasites such as Toxocara canis and Toxascaris leonina. Milbemectin A3 has also been shown to cause liver lesions at high doses in rats, although it does not have any toxic effects on the heart or lungs. Milbemectin A3 binds to drug transporter proteins, which leads to an increase in the concentration of this drug at the site of infection, making it more effective at killing parasites.
Formula:C31H44O7Purity:Min. 95 Area-%Color and Shape:White To Off-White SolidMolecular weight:528.68 g/mol
