CAS 516-37-0
:Cerevisterol
Description:
Cerevisterol, with the CAS number 516-37-0, is a sterol compound primarily derived from certain fungi and yeast. It is characterized by its structural similarity to cholesterol, featuring a steroid nucleus with a hydroxyl group, which contributes to its biological activity. Cerevisterol is known for its potential health benefits, including its role in modulating cholesterol levels and its possible anti-inflammatory properties. It is often studied for its effects on cell membranes and its influence on lipid metabolism. This compound is typically found in various natural sources, including certain species of mushrooms and yeast, and is of interest in both nutritional and pharmaceutical research. Its solubility properties are influenced by its sterol structure, making it more soluble in organic solvents than in water. Overall, cerevisterol represents a significant area of study within the field of biochemistry, particularly concerning its implications for human health and its potential applications in dietary supplements.

Cerevisterol
CAS:Controlled Product
Cerevisterol is a fatty acid that has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against insects. It has also been shown to inhibit the production of TNF-α and other proinflammatory cytokines, such as IL-6, by inhibiting the activation of nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer (NFκB) and mitogen activated protein kinases. Cerevisterol has also been shown to inhibit the expression of genes related to inflammation, such as cyclooxygenase 2 and lipoxygenase. Cerevisterol is structurally similar to protocatechuic acid and cerebroside. The molecular docking analysis shows that cerevisterol binds with high affinity to the receptor site for protocatechuic acid in the cytoplasmic membrane. This binding inhibits signal pathways such as NFκB, which are involved in inflammation.
Purity:Min. 95%Cerevisterol
