N-Me-D-Met-OH
CAS:
N-Me-D-Met-OH is a nontoxic, nonprotein amino acid that is used in animal experiments to study the effects of tumorigenesis. It has been shown to be carcinogenic and tumorigenic in rats and mice. N-Me-D-Met-OH causes tumors by binding to arginine and inhibiting the synthesis of glycine and lysine. N-Me-D-Met-OH also inhibits protein synthesis by blocking the conversion of methionine into cysteine. This amino acid analog has been shown to be mutagenic in bacteria, yeast, and plants.
Formula:C6H13NO2SPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:163.24 g/mol
