CAS 530-79-0
:naphthol as-bi-phosphate disodium salt heptahydrate
Description:
Naphthol AS-bi-phosphate disodium salt heptahydrate, with the CAS number 530-79-0, is a chemical compound commonly used as a dye intermediate and in various analytical applications. It is a water-soluble salt derived from naphthol, which is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon. The heptahydrate form indicates that the compound contains seven molecules of water for each molecule of the salt, contributing to its solubility and stability in aqueous solutions. This compound exhibits properties typical of phosphates, including the ability to act as a buffering agent and to participate in complexation reactions. It is often utilized in the textile and paper industries for dyeing processes, as well as in biochemical assays due to its reactivity with certain substrates. Safety data sheets indicate that while it is generally considered to have low toxicity, appropriate handling and safety measures should be observed to avoid potential irritation or adverse effects.

CAS:
Naphthol AS-BP is a diazonium salt that inhibits the enzyme activity of phosphatases. It is used to inhibit the growth of bacteria in culture media and histochemical staining. The n-dimethyl formamide (DMF) inhibits the enzyme activity of phoshatases by binding to the active site, which prevents the release of phosphate groups and results in a reversible inhibition. Naphthol AS-BP has an optimum pH level of 7.6, where it will be most effective against phosphatase enzymes. This chemical can be hydrolyzed by hydrochloric acid at a rate of 10% per hour, so it should be stored at low temperatures and protected from light. Naphthol AS-BP binds to sarcoplasmic proteins and monoclonal antibodies, which may make it useful for detecting sarcoplasmic proteins or monoclonal antibodies on cells or tissues.
Formula:C18H13BrNO6P·2NaPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:622.26 g/mol
