CAS:Sulfamic acid is an organic compound that can be used as a pharmaceutical agent. It has the molecular formula CH3SO2NH2 and can be synthesized from glycol ethers, such as 2-hydroxyethyl sulfate, by reaction with sodium hydroxide in water. This compound is effective against bacteria and has been shown to have synergic effects when combined with other antibiotics. Sulfamic acid also has a number of pharmacological properties including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer activities. It has been shown to inhibit nitrite ion production in addition to being an excellent surfactant for use in electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS).
