Iproniazid

Description:
Iproniazid is a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) primarily used as an antidepressant. It is characterized by its ability to inhibit the enzyme monoamine oxidase, which is responsible for the breakdown of neurotransmitters such as serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine in the brain. This inhibition leads to increased levels of these neurotransmitters, contributing to its antidepressant effects.
