• 2-(2-methylpropanoyl)indane-1,3-dione

    CAS:

2-(2-methylpropanoyl)indane-1,3-dione is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that inhibits the biosynthesis of prostaglandins from arachidonic acid by inhibiting cyclooxygenase. It has been shown to have biological activity in rats with carrageenan-induced inflammation and to be active against the inflammatory response in the rat paw induced by an injection of carrageenan. 2-(2-Methylpropanoyl)indane-1,3-dione also inhibits the metabolism of arachidonic acid, which may lead to a decrease in the production of prostaglandins.
