L-Glutaminyl-L-glutamine

Description:
L-Glutaminyl-L-glutamine, identified by the CAS number 54419-93-1, is a dipeptide composed of two glutamine amino acids linked by a peptide bond. This compound is characterized by its role in various biological processes, particularly in protein synthesis and metabolism. Glutamine itself is a non-essential amino acid that serves as a key nitrogen donor in the biosynthesis of nucleotides and amino acids. L-Glutaminyl-L-glutamine is soluble in water, which facilitates its biological functions in physiological environments. It is often studied for its potential benefits in supporting immune function, gut health, and muscle recovery, particularly in conditions of stress or injury. The stability of this dipeptide can be influenced by factors such as pH and temperature, which are important considerations in both laboratory and clinical settings. Overall, L-Glutaminyl-L-glutamine is significant in biochemistry and nutrition, reflecting the importance of amino acid derivatives in health and disease.

    CAS:

Glutaminyl-tRNA synthetase is a cellular protein that catalyzes the attachment of glutamine to tRNA. This enzyme is expressed in horticultural plants and has been shown to increase the growth rate of P. pastoris cells. Glutaminyl-tRNA synthetase may also be used as a potential use for increasing the growth rate of perennial ryegrass, which is an anoxygenic plant. The enzyme has been found to have a disulfide bond and 13C NMR spectroscopy indicates that it has a high level of structural similarity to glutaminyl-tRNA synthetases from other organisms. Glutaminyl-tRNA synthetase also has fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) properties and can be used for studies on protein interactions or protein folding by quenching FRET between two fluorescent proteins.
