CAS:<p>Terpinen-4-ol is a natural compound that is found in essential oils such as tea tree oil. It has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against Gram positive bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pneumoniae. Terpinen-4-ol has been shown to inhibit the production of proinflammatory cytokines and chemokines, which reduces inflammation and disease activity. The antimicrobial activity of terpinen-4-ol was evaluated by its ability to inhibit the growth of Hl-60 cells. This substance also inhibits the synthesis of DNA and protein by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBP) on the bacterial ribosome.
