:Benzoylpiperazine hydrochloride
Description:
Benzoylpiperazine hydrochloride is a chemical compound characterized by its piperazine core, which is substituted with a benzoyl group. This substance typically appears as a white to off-white crystalline powder and is soluble in water and organic solvents, making it versatile for various applications. It is primarily studied for its potential pharmacological properties, including its effects on the central nervous system, and has been investigated for use in the treatment of certain psychiatric disorders. The compound's molecular structure contributes to its ability to interact with neurotransmitter systems, particularly those involving serotonin and dopamine. As with many piperazine derivatives, it may exhibit stimulant or psychoactive effects, which necessitates careful handling and regulation. Safety data indicates that it should be managed with caution, as it may pose health risks if misused. Overall, benzoylpiperazine hydrochloride is a compound of interest in both medicinal chemistry and pharmacology, warranting further research to fully understand its properties and potential therapeutic applications.

CAS:1-Benzoylpiperazine hydrochloride (1BP) is an antiviral prodrug that has been shown to inhibit HIV infection. It is a prodrug of benzylpiperazine, which inhibits viral replication by blocking the reverse transcriptase enzyme. 1BP is an amido derivative that is converted to benzylpiperazine in vivo, and then nitroreduced to form a reactive intermediate that binds irreversibly to the active site of the reverse transcriptase enzyme. This prevents the polymerization of viral DNA and formation of new viral particles. The drug also inhibits some strains of influenza A virus, herpes simplex virus type 2, and vaccinia virus. 1BP has antiviral activity against HIV-1, HIV-2, influenza A virus (strains H1N1 and H3N2), herpes simplex virus type 2, and vaccinia virus. It also has anti-inflammatory effects in vitroFormula:C11H14N2O·HClPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:226.7 g/mol
