1-(2,3-Dihydro-1,4-benzodioxin-6-ylsulfonyl)-4-[(4-methoxyphenyl)sulfonyl]piperazine is a ligand for the alpha subunit of the NMDA receptor. It selectively interacts with the NR2A subunit and has shown to be an effective inhibitor of the NMDA receptor in rat cortical neurons. This compound has also been shown to have a high binding affinity for the NMDA receptor in rat brain tissue. 1-(2,3-Dihydro-1,4-benzodioxin-6-ylsulfonyl)-4-[(4-methoxyphenyl)sulfonyl]piperazine is used as a research tool in cell biology and pharmacology.
