Bis[3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl]-disulfide is synthesized by reacting triethoxysilane with sulfur dioxide, followed by hydrolysis of the resultant bis(hydroxysilyl)sulfide with water. The polymer is then purified by precipitation from an alcohol solution, followed by drying to form a powder.
