    <p>Bis[3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl]-disulfide is a polymer that has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in vivo and in vitro. It also inhibits the synthesis of fatty acids. Bis[3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl]-disulfide is synthesized by reacting triethoxysilane with sulfur dioxide, followed by hydrolysis of the resultant bis(hydroxysilyl)sulfide with water. The polymer is then purified by precipitation from an alcohol solution, followed by drying to form a powder. Bis[3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl]-disulfide has a viscosity of about 1 cP at room temperature and can be used as a polymer matrix for drug delivery.</p>
