The compound is eliminated by renal excretion with a plasma elimination half life of 9 hours. This drug can be administered intramuscularly or intravenously at a dosage of 10 mg/kg every 8 hours, but should not be given more than 5 days without interruption due to accumulation in tissues.</p>
