CAS 5725-91-7
:7-Ethoxyresorufin
Description:
7-Ethoxyresorufin is a synthetic organic compound commonly used as a substrate in biochemical assays, particularly for measuring the activity of cytochrome P450 enzymes. It is characterized by its structure, which includes an ethoxy group and a resorufin moiety, contributing to its fluorescent properties. This compound is typically utilized in toxicological studies and drug metabolism research due to its ability to be converted into a highly fluorescent product upon enzymatic action. The fluorescence emitted upon conversion allows for sensitive detection and quantification, making it a valuable tool in pharmacokinetics and environmental monitoring. 7-Ethoxyresorufin is soluble in organic solvents and exhibits stability under standard laboratory conditions. Its use in assays is often accompanied by considerations of substrate specificity and enzyme kinetics, as different cytochrome P450 isoforms may exhibit varying levels of activity towards this substrate. Overall, 7-Ethoxyresorufin serves as an important reagent in the study of metabolic processes and enzyme function.

CAS:
Resorufin ethyl ether is a fluorescent substrate that is used to measure the activity of cytochrome P450 enzymes. It can be used in vitro to study the effects of drugs on enzyme activities and in vivo to study liver lesions. Resorufin ethyl ether is also used as a model system for studying synchronous fluorescence, which is the emission of light by two or more substances at the same time. The nitrogen atoms in resorufin ethyl ether can be substituted with other atoms such as magnesium or zinc, which will affect its activity and fluorescence properties. Resorufin ethyl ether binds to cytochrome P450 enzymes and therefore inhibits their activity. This inhibition is reversible, and it can be reversed by adding a substance that competes with the substrate for binding sites on the enzyme.
Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:241.24 g/mol
