CAS 5728-52-9
:Felbinac
Description:
Felbinac, with the CAS number 5728-52-9, is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) primarily used for its analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. It is characterized by its ability to inhibit cyclooxygenase enzymes, which play a crucial role in the synthesis of prostaglandins, thereby reducing pain and inflammation. Felbinac is typically administered topically, often in the form of gels or creams, allowing for localized treatment of conditions such as arthritis or muscle pain. The substance is known for its relatively low systemic absorption when applied topically, which minimizes potential side effects associated with oral NSAIDs. Chemically, Felbinac is classified as a benzoic acid derivative, and its structure includes a phenyl group and a carboxylic acid functional group, contributing to its pharmacological activity. While it is effective for pain relief, users should be aware of potential skin irritation or allergic reactions at the application site. Overall, Felbinac serves as a valuable option in the management of localized pain and inflammation.

CAS:
Felbinac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug with analgesic and antipyretic properties. It is a racemic mixture of the enantiomers R-(+)-felbinac and S-(-)-felbinac. The chemical structure of felbinac is similar to that of aspirin, but it has a lower level of side effects. Felbinac inhibits prostaglandin synthesis by blocking cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase reactions. It also has anti-inflammatory activity, and reduces the production of pro-inflammatory mediators such as PGE2 levels in human serum, which may be due to its ability to inhibit signal pathways in the cell nucleus.
A number of toxicological studies have been conducted using felbinac on rats, mice, rabbits, and dogs. No major toxicological effects were observed at doses up to 1000 mg/kg body weight for 28 days.
Formula:C14H12O2Purity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:212.24 g/mol4-Biphenylacetic acid
