2'-Methoxyacetophenone is a member of the class of halogenated phenols that exhibits anti-inflammatory activities. It inhibits protease activity in vitro and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects in vivo. 2'-Methoxyacetophenone is a ruthenium complex with hydrochloride salt that has been shown to be an efficient catalyst for acylation reactions.
