CAS:3-Hydroxyaniline is an intermediate in the synthesis of sulfa drugs and other organic compounds. It is produced by the oxidation of aniline with nitric acid, a process that involves intermolecular hydrogen bonding. 3-Hydroxyaniline is used to treat bacteria in wastewater, but not human or animal cells. 3-Hydroxyaniline has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
3-Hydroxyaniline has also been shown to be a safe and effective agent for treating bacterial infections on keratinous tissue (e.g., skin) and may be useful for treatment of bacterial infections on nonkeratinous tissue.Formula:C6H7NOPurity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:109.13 g/mol1-Amino-3-Hydroxybenzene
