Ibuprofen amide inhibits the production of pro-inflammatory chemicals by blocking cyclooxygenase enzymes, which are responsible for synthesis of prostaglandins and thromboxanes. The kinetic profile of this compound was obtained using fluorescence spectroscopy. This analytical method also showed that ibuprofen amide hydrolyzes in acidic conditions, suggesting that it may be active against bacteria that are found in an acidic environment.</p>
