CAS 6000-74-4
:Hydrocortisone sodium phosphate
Description:
Hydrocortisone sodium phosphate, with the CAS number 6000-74-4, is a synthetic corticosteroid used primarily for its anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. It is a sodium salt of hydrocortisone, which enhances its solubility in water, making it suitable for parenteral administration. This compound appears as a white to off-white crystalline powder and is hygroscopic, meaning it can absorb moisture from the air. Hydrocortisone sodium phosphate is often utilized in the treatment of various conditions, including allergies, skin disorders, and adrenal insufficiency. Its mechanism of action involves the modulation of gene expression, leading to reduced inflammation and immune response. The substance is typically administered via injection or as part of topical formulations. Stability is a key characteristic, as it can degrade under certain conditions, necessitating proper storage and handling. Overall, hydrocortisone sodium phosphate is an important therapeutic agent in clinical practice, particularly in managing acute and chronic inflammatory conditions.

CAS:
Hydrocortisone sodium phosphate is a potent anti-inflammatory agent that belongs to a class of drugs called corticosteroids. It is used to treat inflammatory bowel disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and other autoimmune diseases. Hydrocortisone sodium phosphate inhibits the production of cytokines and mediators of inflammation by inhibiting the activity of leukocytes such as human polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMN) and lymphocytes. Hydrocortisone sodium phosphate also has antimicrobial effects against bacteria that are sensitive to this drug. This agent is metabolized in vivo to hydrocortisone by esterases, which are found in the kidney, liver, or gut wall. Hydrocortisone sodium phosphate can inhibit drug metabolism by cytochrome P450 enzymes (CYP3A4).
Formula:C21H29Na2O8PPurity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:White PowderMolecular weight:486.4 g/molHydrocortisone phosphate sodium
