Azithromycin impurity C
CAS:
Azithromycin impurity C is an impurity found in azithromycin. It is a by-product of the synthesis process and has not been observed to have any biological activity. Azithromycin impurity C is a white crystalline solid that can be dissolved in organic solvents. It contains erythromycins, macrolides, ethambutol, rifampin, carboxy, halogens, inorganic, ethyl group and erythromycin. These compounds are resistant to mycobacterium avium and other bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics. The resistance may be due to the presence of dialkylaminoalkyl groups or organic acids such as nitro or hydroxyl group.
Formula:C37H70N2O12Purity:Min. 95 Area-%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:734.96 g/molAzithromycin C (3''-O-demethylazithromycin)
