CAS:Benzyl carbamate is a reactive chemical that can form amides, fluorescence probes, and amines. It is a polymorphic compound with two different crystal forms, alpha and beta. The alpha form is more stable than the beta form under normal conditions. Benzyl carbamate has been shown to have antimicrobial properties against bacteria such as Salmonella typhi, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Escherichia coli. It also has anti-inflammatory effects in bowel disease models and carisoprodol-induced locomotor activity. Benzyl carbamate can also cause colon cancer in rats with colorectal adenocarcinoma by inhibiting fatty acid metabolism.
