It has been shown to have high affinity for both the CB1 and CB2 receptors, with Ki values of 0.07 and 0.05 nM respectively. Diphenylprolinol is a full agonist of the CB1 receptor, but only a partial agonist of the CB2 receptor. Diphenylprolinol binds to these receptors in a manner that resembles endocannabinoids, which are endogenous cannabinoids produced by animals.
