CAS:
4-Nitrobenzhydrazide is a diazonium salt that binds to DNA. 4-Nitrobenzhydrazide has been shown to have tuberculostatic activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium bovis, with an IC50 of 0.5 mM. 4-Nitrobenzhydrazide binds to the DNA by intramolecular hydrogen bonding and intermolecular hydrogen bonding. It is chemically stable in methanol solvent, but unstable in water and organic solvents. The binding affinity of 4-nitrobenzhydrazide for DNA is very high, with a Kd value of 0.1 μM. Nitrogen atoms are present at each site where the diazonium salt interacts with the DNA backbone, while the molecule contains two dihedral angles and two molecules that are connected through hydrogen bonds.
Formula:C7H7N3O3Purity:Min. 98 Area-%Color and Shape:Yellow PowderMolecular weight:181.15 g/mol
