2-Hydroxy-4-methoxy-5-nitrobenzaldehyde (2HMOBA) is a biochemical that has shown anti-cancer effects in vitro. It is a ligation agent that reacts with trifluoroacetic acid to form the corresponding amide derivatives. 2HMOBA has been used in the synthesis of diagnostic agents and synthetic peptides, as well as being involved in the synthesis of proteins.
