:Diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid
Description:
Diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA) is a chelating agent widely used in various applications, including medicine, agriculture, and analytical chemistry. It is characterized by its ability to form stable complexes with metal ions, which makes it valuable for sequestering metals in solution. DTPA has a high affinity for divalent and trivalent metal ions, such as calcium, magnesium, and iron, which can help prevent metal-induced toxicity in biological systems. The compound is typically a white crystalline solid and is soluble in water, making it suitable for various formulations. In medical applications, DTPA is utilized in diagnostic imaging and as a treatment for heavy metal poisoning, as it facilitates the excretion of toxic metals from the body. Additionally, DTPA is employed in agriculture to enhance nutrient availability in soils and in industrial processes for water treatment and metal recovery. Its structure includes multiple carboxylic acid groups, contributing to its strong chelating properties and making it an important compound in both research and practical applications.

CAS:
Pentetic acid, also known as DTPA, is an organic compound that act as metal chelator or radioligand for diagnosis applications. It binds to prostate receptors and has been shown to have tumor treatment properties by inhibiting prostate cancer cell growth and inducing apoptosis. DTPA has a high affinity to radiactive metals (lutetium (Lu-117), gallium (Ga-67), indium (In-111), yttrium (Y-90), gadolinium (Gd(III)) and yttrium (Y(III)) which makes the conjugate being really useful for MRI contrast imaging and radiolabeling. DTPA, as similar compounds like, NOTA, DOTA and TETA, is used as radionuclide when binding to integrin receptors on the surface of cancer cells. Pentetic acid has been shown to have anti-tumour effects against squamous carcinoma cells in vitro and to inhibit the activity of enzymes involved in inflammation, such as cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), lipoxygenase, and phospholipase A2. Pentetic acid also inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrienes.
Formula:C14H23N3O10Purity:Min 98%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:393.35 g/molPentetic acid
