CAS:Bevenopran is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that has been shown to provide relief from chronic pain. It is an orally available, synthetic molecule with a molecular target of the acid phosphatase enzyme. This inhibitor reduces pain by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, which are involved in inflammation. Bevenopran has also been studied in clinical trials for the treatment of autoimmune diseases, cancer, and neuropathic pain. The drug has been shown to inhibit the activity of toll-like receptor (TLR) 4 and 5, which are receptors associated with inflammation and autoimmune reactions. Bevenopran inhibits neurokinin-1 (NK1) receptors in sensory neurons that control pain transmission. Bevenopran also binds to fatty acid receptors and blocks their activity as well as receptor activity for substance P and calcitonin gene related peptide (CGRP).
