CAS:

THP-1 cells were transfected with pcDNA3.1 plasmid encoding wnt/β-catenin pathway reporter and co-cultured with a mouse neural stem cell line, Cerebellar Granule Cell Line (CGC). The THP-1 cells were stimulated with 1-(pyridin-4-yl)-N-(thiophen-2-ylmethyl)methanamine (PTM), a Wnt ligand that is known to induce follicle development in the ovary, and then treated with the proteasome inhibitor MG132. The data showed that PTM induced ectopic expression of β-catenin in CGCs. This suggests that PTM may be a useful therapeutic tool for the treatment of follicle development disorders in humans due to its ability to induce β-catenin expression.
