It is an inhibitor of cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase and has been shown to inhibit the growth of cryptococcus neoformans in vitro assays. 1,5-Diphenyl-1H-pyrazole has been synthesized by an asymmetric synthesis method. The molecular modeling and nmr spectra show that 1,5-diphenyl-1H-pyrazole has a pyrazole ring with a fluorine atom at the 5 position.
