CAS:
Glimepiride is a drug that is used to treat diabetes. It belongs to the class of oral hypoglycaemic drugs, and it is used to lower blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Glimepiride blocks the breakdown of carbohydrates in the intestine, which leads to an increase in their levels in the bloodstream. This drug has been shown to have synergistic effects with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). The mechanism of action for glimepiride is not fully understood, but it may work through its ability to stimulate insulin release from pancreatic beta cells or by inhibiting glucagon secretion from alpha cells. Glimepiride also binds to toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) on immune cells and inhibits TLR4 signalling pathways.
Formula:C24H34N4O5SPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:490.62 g/mol
