4-Hydroxy-1H-benzo[d]imidazol-2(3H)-one
CAS:Formula:C7H6N2O2Color and Shape:SolidMolecular weight:150.13474-Hydroxy-1,3-dihydro-benzoimidazol-2-one
CAS:
4-Hydroxy-1,3-dihydrobenzoimidazol-2-one is a benzimidazole compound that is used as an anticoagulant. It inhibits the activation of vitamin K by inhibiting the action of the enzyme carboxylase, which converts vitamin K to vitamin K epoxide. This compound is also a potent antibacterial agent that has been shown to inhibit bacterial growth through polymerization. 4-Hydroxy-1,3-dihydrobenzoimidazol-2-one binds cationically to the surface and prevents polymerization by binding at sites on the growing chain and preventing access of monomer units to these sites. This process leads to decreased cell number and increased cell death. The hydroxy group on this molecule makes it reactive towards other compounds such as naphthalene or fatty acids.
Formula:C7H6N2O2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:150.13 g/mol
