4-Hydroxy-5-nitrobenzene-1,3-dicarbaldehyde
CAS:
4-Hydroxy-5-nitrobenzene-1,3-dicarbaldehyde (HNAD) is a formyl group that is used as a reagent in organic synthesis. It reacts with phosphonium salts to give formylphosphonium salts. HNAD has been shown to be an excellent chromophore for the bathochromic shift and fluorescence techniques. This compound has also been used in the Wittig reaction, which is a method of synthesizing substituted phenols from olefins and phenols. HNAD can also be used to synthesize chromenes via the wittig reaction and uv irradiation.
Formula:C8H5NO5Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:195.13 g/mol
