:trans,trans,cis-1,5,9-Cyclododecatriene
Description:
Trans,trans,cis-1,5,9-Cyclododecatriene is a cyclic hydrocarbon with the molecular formula C12H18. It features a unique structure characterized by three double bonds located at specific positions within a twelve-membered carbon ring. The presence of these double bonds contributes to its unsaturation and reactivity, making it an interesting compound in organic chemistry. The "trans" and "cis" designations indicate the geometric configuration of the double bonds, which can significantly influence the compound's physical and chemical properties, such as boiling point, melting point, and reactivity. This compound is typically colorless and may have a distinct odor. It is primarily of interest in research and industrial applications, particularly in the synthesis of more complex organic molecules. Additionally, due to its unsaturated nature, it can participate in various chemical reactions, including polymerization and addition reactions. Safety precautions should be taken when handling this substance, as with many organic compounds, due to potential health hazards.

CAS:The redox potential of this molecule is ˜1.7 V, which is close to that of the hydrogen electrode. The reaction solution was subjected to kinetic studies using a urea nitrogen electrode and phosphotungstic acid as the indicator. It was found that the rate-determining step in this reaction is a 1,5-cyclododecatriene elimination and not a 1,5-cyclododecatriene addition. X-ray crystallography revealed that the catalyst is a copper complex with coordination geometry of square planar and glomerular filtration rates were measured at 0.4 ml/min for both control and experimental groups.
