• Oxycodone N-oxide

    Controlled Product
    CAS:

Oxycodone is an opioid drug that has been used in the treatment of severe pain, cough suppression, and as a preoperative medication. It is available as a single agent or in combination preparations with acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Oxycodone binds to opioid receptors in the central nervous system and increases dopamine levels in the brain. It also inhibits the release of norepinephrine from sympathetic nerve terminals, which may explain its anti-inflammatory effects. Oxycodone can cause dizziness, nausea, vomiting, constipation, and dry mouth when taken at high doses. This drug can interact with other drugs such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which will increase the risk for gastrointestinal bleeding and heart attacks. The adverse effects of oxycodone may be reduced by a two-way crossover design study that includes microdialysis probes and multivariate logistic regression analysis.
