CAS 72143-20-5
:4-[bis(2-hydroxyethyl)amino]-L-phenylalanine
Description:
4-[Bis(2-hydroxyethyl)amino]-L-phenylalanine, also known by its CAS number 72143-20-5, is an amino acid derivative characterized by the presence of a phenylalanine backbone modified with two hydroxyethyl groups attached to a nitrogen atom. This compound features a chiral center, which contributes to its potential biological activity and interactions. The hydroxyethyl groups enhance its solubility in water and may influence its pharmacokinetic properties, making it of interest in pharmaceutical applications. The presence of hydroxyl groups can also facilitate hydrogen bonding, potentially affecting its interactions with biological macromolecules. As a derivative of L-phenylalanine, it retains the essential amino acid properties, which may be relevant in protein synthesis and metabolic pathways. Its unique structure suggests potential applications in drug design, particularly in developing compounds that require enhanced solubility and bioavailability. However, specific studies on its biological activity and therapeutic potential would be necessary to fully understand its implications in medicinal chemistry.

CAS:
Dihydroxy melphalan-d8 is a cytostatic drug that has potent anticancer effects. It can be used as a chemotherapeutic agent in the treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia and cervical cancer. Dihydroxy melphalan-d8 can be synthesized by reacting melphalan with d8-2,3-diaminonaphthalene in the presence of base to form the nitrogen mustard dihydroxy melphalan. The drug is then purified by chromatographic techniques such as HPLC or high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Dihydroxymelphaland8 has been shown to bind to DNA and inhibit DNA replication. This inhibition prevents cells from dividing, which leads to cell death. The terminal half-life of this drug is approximately 8 hours.
Formula:C13H20N2O4Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:268.31 g/mol
