:Yttrium
Description:
Yttrium is a silvery-metallic element with the atomic number 39 and is classified as a transition metal in the periodic table. It is part of the rare earth elements group and is known for its high melting point and excellent thermal stability. Yttrium is relatively stable in air, forming a protective oxide layer that prevents further oxidation. It is typically found in minerals such as xenotime and monazite and is primarily extracted through various chemical processes. Yttrium exhibits a variety of oxidation states, with +3 being the most common in compounds. It is used in various applications, including phosphors for color television tubes and LED lights, superconductors, and as an alloying agent in metals to improve strength and resistance to corrosion. Additionally, yttrium compounds are utilized in medical applications, particularly in cancer treatment through radioisotopes. Its unique properties make yttrium a valuable material in both industrial and technological fields.

CAS:Controlled Product
Yttrium is a silvery-white, hard metal that is used primarily in alloys. Yttrium has an oxidation number of 3+, and it reacts with water vapor to form hydroxides. Yttrium can be found in wastewater treatment plants because it is resistant to corrosion by chlorine. It also binds to the monoclonal antibody and causes light emission, which can be observed using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The redox potential of yttrium is high, which allows it to oxidize other metals at lower concentrations than other metals would need to oxidize yttrium. Yttrium also has a coordination geometry of group P2, which means that its electrons are located in the same plane as the nucleus and are not as easily dislodged.
Formula:YPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:88.91 g/mol
